If you’re into details and making sure every part of your day is photographed, I came up with a wedding day photography preparation list to help things run smoothly on your wedding day morning! This list will help you prepare for your wedding photos and getting the best shots without you having to worry whether or not something is missing on the day of when you will be busier with other thing!
Below there is a list of details that we love to get shots of. I suggest my couples gather these things and have them ready upon our arrival all ready to be photographed!
Extra tips:
- If there are specific shots you want from your photographer, don’t be afraid to ask us to grab them for you- that’s why you hired us!
- Asking your florist for loose florals to style your wedding day details with will make the photos even more beautiful and colorful!
- If you are having someone who is very special to you get ready with you or help you get ready, you should make sure they all are
dressed and entirely ready to go before you get into your dress/attire that way when you’re ready to put your dress on, they are already looking fresh and all done up! You could also make sure your wedding party keeps your getting ready room cleaned up so there is no clutter in the photos- I personally am likely to be moving things around and helping them too but I like to minimize the extra time it takes to
do so so we have more time for taking photos! - To get the best hair and make up photos have your MUA sit you close to a window, facing the window if possible.
- The groomsmen’s side of the wedding party should be fully dressed upon arrival of the photographers. If wearing a suit, you can be dressed up to their undershirt, pants, etc (except shoes)! Which leaves us to photograph putting on cufflinks, tie, shoes and so on.
- Be sure to include your best man/woman helping you get ready!
- Once you are done, I will usually either take some hanging out shots, be causal, pretend like the photographer isn’t there! Have fun!
